&pizza is prepping to open its 20th location in D.C. on Thursday, and it’ll be the first to serve breakfast pizzas.
The new locale sits in Hotel Hive at 2224 F St. NW—the first micro-hotel in D.C. also scheduled to open its doors tomorrow.
Off the lobby of developer Jim Abdo’s project, a full-service bar called Hive Bar x &bar will serve up six craft cocktails with local spirits from Civic vodka, Cotton & Reed rum, and Jos. A. Magnus whiskey, as well as local beers and house wines on tap (all under $10).
The three breakfast pizzas, available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., include the Cinnamon Toast, as well as an All-American—topped with tater tots, sausage, egg, bacon, and more—and Avocado Toast with spicy chickpeas and goat cheese.
Mornings will also include to-go items like whole fruit, yogurt, and JRINK cold-pressed juices. Coffee drinks made with beans from Hyattsville-based Vigilante Coffee Company are served throughout the day.
&pizza’s location inside the new micro-unit project is also tiny, with a square-shaped ordering line. Its regular pizzas will be available throughout the day.
The next &pizza opening will likely be its first in New York City, with a location slated for the NoMad district for the spring or summer, the team tells Eater.
In line with &pizza’s opening day traditions, the first 200 guests in line at 11 a.m. tomorrow will get a free pie. And the first five to ask for an “&” tattoo will get inked for free (as well as earn free pizza for a year).
On the charity front, pizzas will be donated throughout the weekend to George Washington University’s Alternative Breaks Program.
