Pork Barrel BBQ has been working on its new Del Ray restaurant for quite some time, and it looks like the end is finally in sight. A rep for the restaurant confirms that the permits are all going through and Pork Barrel is just working on finishing touches — set to open "any day now." More specifically, any day in May. Pork Barrel's Twitter feed elaborates that they've "passed a ton of inspections, the cooking elements are starting to be installed and furniture is arriving." Owners Heath Hall and Brett Thompson originally pegged the restaurant to open in the fall, then March, but it's been held up by Del Ray's regulatory process. Here's hoping this date sticks.
