Though it only just announced itself two weeks ago, Unum will open its doors to the public at 5:30 tonight in Georgetown's old Mendocino Grille space. As has been noted, the 50-seat restaurant will be serving "new American" cuisine from former Equinox sous chef Phillip Blane, plus a separate menu for the 12-seater bar. Unum has more than 60 bottles of wine available plus a dozen by the glass — with an emphasis on California wines — plus craft beer and cocktails, of course. The space may be small, but check the gallery above to see some of the nice things they've done with the place.
Unum will be open for dinner seven nights a week and is already accepting reservations at 202-621-6959. They're also planning to launch both Saturday and Sunday brunch within the next few weeks. Here's the opening menus for both the bar and dinner.
