In his Young & Hungry column this week, Chris Shott explores the popularity of deviled eggs. Among the possible reasons they're turning up on menus all over the places these days? People are poor and poor people like mayonnaise and eggs, duh. Though DC9 chef Amber Bursik is probably on the right track when she suggests it just might be because "[t]hey’re a pain in the ass to make for yourself." Shott also calls out marketers for turning to puns like "devil-ish" to sell their deviled eggs in his column whose headline reads "Deviled in the Details." Sigh. [WCP]
