OK nobody panic, but Ben's Chili Bowl is closed this week. The plumbing there is apparently just as historic as the restaurant itself — as DCist reports, they have not had any work done since 1958 — and so owner Nizam Ali has decided to close the place down for the week while they upgrade. So that's probably a good thing, even if you were hankering for a half-smoke today. [DCist]
