Cupcake Protective Details

What's the next cupcake? Cupcakes that have their own security measures. The City Paper bears the news that "even rough-and-tumble Southeast D.C. has finally succumbed to the prissy cupcake craze" with a bakery named Olivia's that has installed a sheet of bulletproof glass between you and your cupcakes. The measure, of course, would be more to protect the employees and prevent robberies. The owner explains: "I have owned several business in this area and we have been robbed several times. We wanted to make [the shop] elegant and beautiful, but because of the teenagers and having my children here we wanted to protect them." [WCP]
