The new Pete's Apizza location is Clarendon is launching a half-price pizza Mondays special, which ARLnow notes is sort of like Groupon, but not Groupon. Co-owner Joel Mehr explains that the local pizza chain didn't exactly see the benefits it wanted when it ran a Groupon earlier this year since it mainly drove weekend traffic rather than the much-needed weekday traffic: "If we are giving discounts when we don’t need to be giving discounts, that doesn’t benefit us."
