Tom Sietsema can think of a few reasons why Jeff Black's Pearl Dive Oyster Palace has seen a standing-room-only crowd since it debuted in Logan Circle last month. In his First Bite column this week, the Washington Post critic praises the oysters on the half-shell, the pickled shrimp and the gumbo with braised duck. He also seems taken with the restaurant's nautical decor, concluding that "Without resorting to cliches, Pearl Dive never lets you forget its theme." [WaPo]
