FOOD TRUCKS—Another food truck is coming and it's not just any food truck. It is a burger food truck. Our friends over at Burger Days share the news that Dorothy Moon's Gourmet Burgers aims to hit DC streets in mid-November with a menu of five burgers, chips, potato salad and fruit salad. The owners are both local and one of them got his start working for another local burger place, Five Guys. [BD]
FOOD TRUCKS—In more food truck news, the DC Food Truck Association has posted an open letter of apology on its website. It appears that last week's Trucker-boo event was changed at the last minute from an optional donation fundraiser to one with an admission fee. The association writes: "We were taken aback by this change from what was advertised on the flyers and our objections fell on deaf ears when we confronted the event’s organizer, Georgetown Events." JACQUES PEPIN WIRE—The Washington Post reports that Jacques Pépin has had to cancel some of his upcoming public appearances due to hip replacement surgery — and these include his trip to DC for the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show plus that lunch with Michel Richard at Citronelle.
