Pho 14 Reopens After Smoke Incident; Zaytinya's Grape Festival Begins Now

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS—Last night, heavy smoke shuttered Pho 14 during dinner service. Though the restaurant tells the Huffington Post that there was not an actual fire, they were closed today. But good news! The restaurant has confirmed to Eater that they've been inspected and are all set to reopen as usual at 5:30 p.m. today, so fear not for your pho fix, Columbia Heights denizens. PENN QUARTER—Attention grape-lovers, Zaytinya's Grape Festival officially begins today. Over the course of the next two weeks, the José Andrés restaurant will offer new grape-centric dishes, a new selection of Greek wines and special cocktails. They'll have a tasting of Sonata wine this evening and on November 22 there will be a five-course wine dinner for $85 per person. [EaterWire]

CLARENDON—Tomorrow evening, Clarendon's Restaurant 3 is hosting a beer dinner with the Port City Brewing Company featuring dishes like a beer, bacon and cheddar soup, beer-braised barbecue pork wings and a blonde ale beer float. The five-course meal will cost you $50 per person and begins at 7 p.m. For reservations, email events@restaurantthree.com. [EaterWire]

CHEF SHUFFLES—The Washington Business Journal reports that Duane Keller will be the new executive chef for 14K, coming most recently from the Mason Inn and Conference Center Hotel. [WBJ]

LIQUIDATION WIRE—Prince of Petworth follows up on his report from last week that Funxion is temporarily closing to relaunch its "phase two." Apparently what that entails is a total liquidation of the property. Anyone need an automatic toilet paper dispenser? [PoP]
