1) Gaithersburg: The fourth and latest location of Cafe Deluxe has officially opened out in Gaithersburg, offering many of the same menu items available in Cleveland Park, Bethesda and Tysons Corner — including the meatloaf and the braised boneless short ribs. There's outdoor seating for 100 people on the waterfront setting. Status: Certified open. 9811 Washingtonian Blvd.; website
2) Dupont Circle: And in other expansion news, Bethesda Bagels has opened its very first location in DC proper today in the old Johnny Rockets space. And, according to their Facebook page, the shop is offering a grand opening special this weekend that will get you a bagel and cream cheese plus a small coffee for $2.49. Beyond bagels, the shop's menu also shows they offer overstuffed sandwiches and New York-style pizza. Status: Certified open. 1718 Connecticut Ave, NW; website
3) Clarendon: It's official: the new Clarendon location of Trader Joe's is certified open. ARLnow was on the scene at the 8 a.m. opening where apparently a crowd had already formed. Also, this location has what is called a "line buster" that allows employees to scan items while shoppers wait in line to shorten their time at the register. Status: Certified open. 1109 N. Highland St.; website
