Froggy Bottom To Close; Pie-Buying For Procrastinators

FOGGY BOTTOM—The Hatchet reports that the beloved GWU watering hole Froggy Bottom Pub is set to shutter after 11 years thanks to a university redevelopment plan for the strip it inhabits. Owner Hien Bui says that she's looking for a new space, though, and hopes to relocate only blocks away. [The Hatchet via DCist]

PIE WIRE—Deadlines for ordering your Thanksgiving pies have pretty much all come and gone, but here are a couple that you can still make. Café Saint-Ex closes its pie-pre-ordering tomorrow with 9-inch pumpkin, pecan and apple varieties available. Meanwhile, people who really dropped the ball can pick up their last-minute Buzz Bakery pies at Planet Wine as late as Wednesday. These varieties include classic pumpkin, bourbon chocolate pecan and sweet potato pie with cranberry jam and cinnamon marshmallow fluff. Call 703-600-2899 to reserve. Turkeys will also be for sale at Planet Wine. [EaterWire]

PHOTO INTERLUDE—Have you ever wondered what Eco-Friendly Foods purveyor Bev Eggleston looks like in a turkey suit? No? Well, the City Paper has a shot of it anyway taken at the Dupont Circle farmers market. [WCP]

ATLAS DISTRICT—Frozen Tropics is going through the trouble of rounding up which restaurants on H Street are open on Thanksgiving and which ones are closed. Looks like you can count on Argonaut, Smith Commons and Big Board, which is even serving actual Thanksgiving foods. [FT]
