Just a little more than six months after opening its first DC-area store in Penn Quarter, today Paul Bakery's new Georgetown location has officially opened to the public. Lucky passers-by (or avid Twitter followers) might have had the opportunity to stop in last week during the bakery's soft opening events, but now everyone is welcome to stop in as of 7 o'clock this morning.
Interestingly, a press release notes that Paul's new Georgetown home was built in 1889, which just so happens to be the same year the bakery chain was founded in France. There are breakfast, lunch and dinner options like sandwiches, salads and quiche — and please note that their baguettes and croissants come highly recommended by people who cook for French diplomats.
