DUPONT CIRCLE—Heritage India has posted a statement to its website related to Sunday morning's shooting that occurred just outside the restaurant, confirming that a fight inside the restaurant escalated when it hit the streets outside. Also that the restaurant's security team brought a stabbing victim inside the restaurant to administer medical aid. Quote: "Heritage India is reviewing its contracting procedures for private events and is prepared to participate in a constructive dialog with police and city officials to promote a safe, hospitable environment for nightlife activities." LOGAN CIRCLE—Tim Carman reports that the renovations at Great Wall Szechuan House have begun and so yesterday was the last day of dine-in service until perhaps as early as Dec. 19. Once renovations are through, there should be some exposed brick, a bar in the back and perhaps even an expanded menu (with expanded prices). [WaPo]
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS—After being in business for two years, Room 11 is finally planning to launch brunch on December 11, or so sayeth the Going Out Gurus. Possible dishes include a jalapeno french toast, potato and chorizo frittata and an orange-walnut-chocolate scone. Plus a new cocktail menu geared specifically toward the morning. [WaPo]
