Restaurant Name Changes; Logan Tavern's New Chef

SILVER SPRING—The Japanese restaurant that's headed into the old Ceviche space in Silver Spring can't quite seem to settle on a name. Originally, it was supposed to be Nobu Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi. So, sort of like the very extremely popular LA restaurant Nobu. Then The Washingtonian reported this morning that the restaurant changed its name to Haruhana Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi — and apparently Nobu's legal department was involved in that situation. But, before you start plugging Haruhana into Yelp or whatever, Best Bites comes back with this update: the Silver Spring restaurant will now be named Masa Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi. Which, they point out, is similar to a very extremely popular New York restaurant. This is getting confusing. [The Washingtonian]

CHEF SHUFFLES—Borderstan has it that Alexander Zeppos is the new chef over at Logan Tavern. He's previously worked at Growlers, Local 16, Zaytinya, Jaleo and Ardeo. [Borderstan]

CHINESE FOOD WEEK—The folks over at LivingSocial's SocialStudies blog got into the spirit of Eater's randomly declared Chinese Food Week (thanks guys!) and came up with a list of their favorite Chinese takeouts. It includes Ming's, Great Wall, Young Chow and Chinatown Express. Good picks, all! [SocialStudies]
