Food Network Chefs Are Invading DC; Late-Night Sushi

EVENTWIRE—Even though Jacques Pépin will no longer be able to make it, there will probably still be plenty to amuse you this weekend at the Washington Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show. Food Network people Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis and Guy Fieri will all be there giving presentations; a whole bunch of big-name DC chefs will all be doing demos; and writer-types like Joe Yonan, Monica Bhide and Domenica Marchetti will all be there signing books. Also, there is going to be a "cocktail throwdown" with Gina Chersevani and Owen Thomson, which will be pretty amazing if this photo is any indication. More details and tickets available here. METRO CENTER—The City Paper reports that Zentan sushi chef Jason Zheng will be working for The Hamilton when it opens in, hopefully, mid-December. Though the restaurant will be open 24 hours, sushi will be served until 2 a.m. [WCP]

ALEXANDRIA—This weekend marks yet another pajama brunch over at Virtue Feed & Grain. And this time your pajamas will get you not just a discount on your meal, but also the opportunity to win a brand new set of footie pajamas from the Pajama Company. [EaterWire]

FOGGY BOTTOM—Seems like things are all getting settled over at District Commons and Burger, Tap & Shake. The restaurants have announced that they will both be open on Sundays this weekend and henceforth. District Commons is debuting its Sunday brunch from 11 to 2:30 in December. [EaterWire]
