Casa Nonna's Tavola 12 Launches; Sweet Themez Opens

DUPONT CIRCLE—Italian restaurant Casa Nonna announced today the launch of its new chef's table dubbed Tavola 12 — Italian for Table 12. Chef Amy Brandwein will serve a special 12-course tasting menu to folks who reserve a spot at the 12-seat table on Friday and Saturday nights only. Courses will include things like terracotta baked octopus, tortelli di cremona, wood-roasted squab and more. The entire tasting menu will run you $55 with the option of adding wine pairings for another $30 per person. Reservations are required and can be obtained by calling 202-629-2505.

ADAMS MORGAN—The City Paper reports that Sweet Themez bakery has opened on 18th Street selling cupcakes, specialty cakes and cake pops. [WCP]

CLEVELAND PARK—Prince of Petworth hears the good news that Ireland's Four Fields is not closing in November as planned. Apparently the bar will remain open through March and at that point will try to get another extension on its lease. [PoP]

DOWNTOWN—On the sandwich beat this week, the Going Out Gurus report that Jimmy John's has opened its location on 14th and L Streets and will offer delivery within certain areas. [WaPo]
