Those renovations that kept Evening Star Café all shuttered up in November are coming to an end — seems like next week? — and a new chef will be there to helm the kitchen when it reopens. Tom Sietsema reports that Jim Jeffords, who just spent four years in the kitchen at CityZen, will take over for the departed Will Artley (now consulting over at Pork Barrel BBQ). The revamped menu will be very Southern, including things like "scallops served with a hoe cake and tomatillo chow chow, and a risotto swirled with hoppin john, brined tasso, black-eyed peas and mustard greens."
