The Washingtonian has the news that pastry chef Anthony Chavez is leaving 2941 on January 1, a chef shuffle that Chavez says is not prompted by the restaurant's redesign plans but rather his own plans to open a brick-and-mortar bakery. Taking over will be sous chef Caitlin Dysart who will roll out a new dessert menu with items like "pine-nut-and-chocolate tart, a caramel éclair with roasted pineapple and rosemary cream, and a riff on Dysart’s favorite cocktail, the Dark and Stormy, with Jamaican rum cake and lime sorbet."
