Tom Sietsema has the early word on the newly opened Elisir, a restaurant he was apparently so looking forward to that he admits to visiting on opening night. There were "a few hitches," but mostly it sounds like things went great from the dishes, the house-made salts, and the bread basket (of course) to, most importantly, "the sight of cloth covering surface at Elisir is alone something to applaud." He goes on to declare, "Fine dining in Washington might be dormant, but it's not dead." [WaPo]
