1) Logan Circle: Capitol Hill's Tortilla Coast soft-opens today at its brand-new P Street location — and, according to a rep, it will be open for lunch and dinner service with limited seating. As has been noted, the 152-seat restaurant will place more of a focus on authentic Mexican dishes rather than the Tex-Mex that its sister restaurant is known for serving. The dinner menu offers items like carne asada, tilapia a la veracruzana, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, tamales and three kinds of ceviche. Tortilla Coast will also be serving Mexican brunch favorites like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, as well as — how could it not? — several variations on a margarita. Status: Soft-open seatings at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. today, closed on Sunday, grand opening on Monday. 1460 P St, NW; website
2) Columbia Pike: Officially open today as of 11 a.m. is William Jeffreys Tavern on Columbia Pike. Curbed DC took a look at the design elements of the brand new watering hole, which adheres to a "warm and cozy" 1920s Prohibition theme with working fireplaces, wood accents and red curtains. On the menu you'll find appetizers like oysters and pork riblets and entrees such as grilled swordfish, hangar steak, creole fried catfish and more. And, of course, there's a sizable bar with 16 taps for Arlingtonians to get their booze on. Status: Certified open. 2301 Columbia Pike, Arlington; website
