COLLEGE PARK—University of Maryland students (and neighbors), you may now get your drink on at Bobby's Burger Palace. The Bobby Flay burger restaurant that opened just this past fall has announced that it officially has its liquor license and is serving booze as of this week. This means beer, wine, margs and alcoholic milkshakes. Update: While they do have the liquor license approved, the restaurant has discovered that they cannot begin serving just yet. Expect this in the next week to 10 days or so! [EaterWire]
FARMERS MARKETS—FreshFarm Markets would like to remind you that it's just about time to make the switch over to the winter hours for their year-round markets in Dupont Circle and Silver Spring. Both markets will open at 10 a.m. — beginning on December 1 for the Dupont market and January 7 in Silver Spring. [EaterWire]
LISTICLES—Going Out Gurus Justin Rude and Alex Baldinger have a rundown of their personal favorite food moments of the year, which include a beer-and-clams happy hour at Freddy's Lobster + Clams, the surprise opening of Little Serow and, of course, Shake Shack coming to DC.
CHARITY WIRE—Over the holiday weekend, Food Safety News publisher Bill Marler pledged to match up to $5,000 in donations made to Miriam's Kitchen between Christmas and New Years Day. The DC charity provides free meals to a mostly homeless set of guests — and it also advocates on their behalf. So go make that man put his money where his mouth is, OK? [Food Safety News]
