ATLAS DISTRICT—As the Boundary Road bistro nears its opening on H Street NE, a couple of blogs get a look inside and at the menu. First up, H Street Great Street has the full opening menu, which includes things like a foie gras torchon peanut butter and jelly sandwich, quark and black pepper pierogi, grilled venison, queso fresco arepas, charcuterie and a few desserts. Prince of Petworth also gets a look inside and talks to chef Brad Walker, who has held previous gigs at Central, Proof, Cashion's Eat Place and Fiola. [HSGS, PoP]
CRYSTAL CITY—ARLnow reports that local Mexican chain California Tortilla is expanding out to Crystal City with a new location destined for Crystal Drive. Also headed to the area is a Seattle's Best coffee. [ARLnow]
TRENDWATCH—Northern Virginia Magazine's newly installed dining editor Stefanie Gans takes on house-made condiments, something the City Paper's Chris Shott "has been bitching about all year." It turns out that the housemade mustard at Lyon Hall is pretty damn good. [NVM]
U STREET—The City Paper reports that the U Street Music Hall is switching up its menu. There's no more pork belly doughnut, but instead now there are about six variations of the pho dog that have proven so popular at the nightclub. [WCP]
