Tom Sietsema weighs in on Crystal City newcomer Memphis Barbeque for his First Bite column this week and is not so much impressed with what he finds there. Though the Washington Post critic thinks that the restaurant works on paper as a Memphis-style barbecue joint, that doesn't exactly translate to reality with beef and chicken that "are treated like third-class citizens" and a macaroni and cheese side dish that "looks like scrambled eggs on a bad whisk day." The pulled pork is fine, though. [WaPo]
