Volt's Lunchbox, Memphis Barbeque Both Now Open

1) Frederick: Your lunchtime plans are settled if you're out in Frederick today. Bryan Voltaggio's brand new sandwich spinoff of Volt officially opened over the weekend just blocks away from Volt. As has been previously noted, Lunchbox will essentially be taking over lunch service for the popular restaurant and its menu features a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads. GrubGrade went on opening day and has some nice interior pictures, including Voltaggio himself behind the counter. Status: Certified open. 50 Carroll Creek Way, Frederick; website

2) Crystal City: Originally scheduled to open last week, Memphis Barbeque officially opens its doors today with the Memphis-style barbecue that people have been waiting to get their hands on for some time now. With pitmaster Redrick Rayborn tending the live hickory wood-burning fire, the pork-centric menu here offers things like pulled pork eggrolls, ribs and pulled pork shoulder. But there's also brisket, chicken and seafood up for the taking. Take a peek inside. Status: Opens at 11 a.m. 320 S. 23rd St, Crystal City; website
