Here's an explosion of trends, if you can handle it: Food Trucks! Pop-ups! Barbecue! Together with the BBQ Bus, a new organization called Uncurbed DC is unveiling next week what it calls a "traveling food truck restaurant." But what is that, exactly? Well, it means that various food trucks will periodically set up temporary brick-and-mortar shop inside vacant DC buildings. First up: BBQ Bus.
They're calling this kickoff event a BBQ Bus Holiday House Party, hosted from December 13—17 inside a vacant Georgetown property. From 6 p.m. onward, they'll be serving all the usual suspects from their menu — smoked ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and more — but this time you will actually be able to eat these things inside and maybe not wait in line. BBQ Bus is giving away tickets to the invitation-only opening night on December 12 via a Twitter contest should you desire to be among the guinea pigs.
