Gingerbread House Decorating at the Ritz; Graffiato to Host Holiday Happy Hour for Share Our Strength

WEST END—As Ron Swanson learned on Parks and Recreation this week, gingerbread houses are hard. So on Sunday the Ritz-Carlton's pastry team is hosting a gingerbread house decorating class from 3 to 4:30 that involves hot cocoa, cookies and soda. It is also only for kids, ages 3 to 12. Reservations are $65 and can be made by calling 202-974-5566. If this weekend is already booked, there's another class on December 18. [EaterWire]

CHINATOWN—Taste of the Nation is coming up soon and Graffiato is hosting a holiday party on Monday to raise funds for the event. Tickets are $25 and include a sample of pizzas and small bites, plus your choice of house wine, draft beer or Graffiato's own punch. It gets underway at 5 p.m. [EaterWire]

ADAMS MORGAN—Prince of Petworth brings the news that Jack Rose's Brian Kruglak is moving to Buffalo, but that before he leaves the bar is offering a Sunday special of "rare and exotic beers aged in bourbon barrels." It begins at 6 p.m. [PoP]

LISTICLES—Both The Passenger and PX made a Food & Wine listicle of the 50 Best Bars in America and the Washington Post talks to the mixologists who did — and those who did not — make this list. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people have quibbles with the listicle. [WaPo]

LISTICLES—Meanwhile, the Washington Post makes a listicle of its own, this one of the best pizza places in the DC area. The list includes the likes of Comet Ping Pong, Pete's Apizza, Matchbox, Radius, Seventh Hill Pizza, newcomer District of Pi, and old-timer 2 Amys. [WaPo]
