Tom Sietsema went to Smith Commons this week for his First Bite column. The verdict? While he raves about the look of the loftlike space, the Post critic was unimpressed by the food. Sietsema later posted in an online chat that, "It always amazes me how these places spend big bucks and lots of time on creating great spaces, but give short shrift to what goes on the plate." He says he'll go back to the H Street newcomer, but mostly for the drinks. [WaPo]
