Prince of Petworth reports that Constantine Stavropoulos - owner of Tryst, The Diner and Open City - plans to open yet another eggy endeavor, this time in Columbia Heights. The new restaurant, which will be located at the corner of 11th and Monroe streets, will combine a coffeehouse, diner and bar in one 7,000 square-foot space. Basically, it'll be Tryst's coffee with The Diner's feel plus a bar.
The menu will include comfort food, small plates and typical diner food, while the bar will be serving specialty cocktails as well as your regular draft beers.
But, in what might be the most exciting revelation, Stravropoulos also intends for this new venture to be a true diner -- open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Over the next several weeks, he intends to talk with community members with the hopes of allaying any concerns they might have about another all-night spot in Columbia Heights.
Barring disaster, Stravropoulos is aiming for a soft opening in August and grand opening in September.
