DUPONT CIRCLE—In celebration of its two-monthiversary, Yola is giving out free samples of its refreshingly not-frozen yogurt on Saturday at 1 pm (along with an educational discussion on how yogurt is made). The Feast reports Yola will also hold a morning coffee tasting and a Settlers of Catan tournament. We don't know what that means. [The Feast]
GEORGETOWN—First cupcakes hit it big, then pies, and now Baked & Wired is trying to make mini pies happen. The Georgetown bakery has added a list of portable pies to its menu. Flavors like apple, cherry, peach and mixed berry are topped with an admittedly adorable dough cutout. [TT]
ARLINGTON—Starting Friday you can get your Mardi Gras on at Bayou Bakery, where chef David Guas will be sending out King Cakes (available first-come-first-serve) daily through March 8. As tradition dictates, if your slice has the plastic baby cooked inside then you're officially King for the day. [Capital Cooking]
