Petworth Market Announces Opening, Mendocino Grille Closes Due to Unpaid Taxes

PETWORTH - It's official: The Petworth Community Market will return on May 20 for another season of selling fresh produce, baked goodies, crafts and more. The farmer's market, which is opening earlier this season than it did last year, has also changed its hours to better accommodate the working masses. Catch it any time from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridays. GEORGETOWN - Patch reports that the Mendocino Grille and Wine Bar has been closed until further notice. The Office of Tax and Revenue revoked the M Street restaurant's sales tax certificate and liquor license for failure to pay a whopping $80,000 in sales taxes. [Patch]
