ATLAS DISTRICT—H Street Great Street notes that Khan's Bar & Grill is getting closer to opening in the Atlas District. Only "administrative hurdles" remain and the Mongolian barbecue restaurant should open by the end of the month. With potential for some patio space sometime after that! [HSGS]
ATLAS DISTRICT—Ethiopic, H Street's first Ethiopian restaurant, turns one year old next week and plans to celebrate on March 15 by donating 2 percent of profits to the World of Tomorrow, an initiative to benefit schools in Ethiopia. The restaurant also received a grant to improve the facade of their building. [HSGS]
MT. PLEASANT—A new speakeasy is also hoping to open by the end of the month in Mount Pleasant. The Feast reports that the owners of Tonic are preparing to open Last Exit in the space adjacent to (and accessible from) their bar. And it looks like this will be a less formal speakeasy than the others cropping up across town. Owners say they don't want to take themselves too seriously. [The Feast via PoP]
