The Black Squirrel Basement Bar Opens In Adams Morgan

New, 1 comment

The beer list at the Black Squirrel just got bigger with the opening of its basement beer bar on Wednesday. The bar previously took up two levels in its Adams Morgan building, both with pretty decent selections of craft beer. But this time it's gone big-time: a third bar has opened at street level with 32 beers on tap. This, the Washington Post says, is the third-largest draft list in the city.

Some of the beers on tap include Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat, Flying Dog Horn Dog barleywine and the North Coast Scrimshaw Porter. For locavores, note that the Port City Porter comes straight from one of the DC-area's new breweries, Port City in Alexandria. There aren't any bottles downstairs due to space constraints, but this weekend they'll be serving a small menu of snacks and sandwiches.
