CHARITYWIRE—Do your part to help out all those suffering in Japan right now: eat lots of pork belly kushiyaki. Kushi has announced that it will donate 100 percent of the sales from this signature menu item to the Japanese Red Cross disaster relief efforts. [EaterWire]

LOGAN CIRCLE—Another new barbecue place has apparently soft opened at the corner of 14th and U streets. The Standard makes use of all the outdoor Garden District's old space with picnic tables and a patio dining setup. Prince of Petworth has the menu with sandwiches, hush puppies and a good choice of brews. [PoP]

CAPITOL HILL—The Washington City Paper calls out Ba Bay for some doublespeak today regarding its lack of vegetarian options. Though the Vietnamese restaurant is happy to claim the mantle of modernity when criticized for not being authentic enough, the City Paper says "they can't use the excuse that they're being true to Vietnamese cuisine as their reason for not incorporating meatless dishes on the menu."
