Restaurants across the city have stepped up to help Japan, and today a group of more than 20 have banded together in the effort. Chef Kaz Okochi has asked top local chefs like Nora Pouillon, Ris Lacoste, Robert Wiedmaier, Jose Andres and more to join him in auctioning off meals, tastings and classes on eBay for disaster relief efforts. The first online auctions are for a tasting menu for two at KAZ Sushi Bistro and a dinner for two at Perry's in Adams Morgan. More auctions will be posted under the username dchelpjapannow in the coming days, so be good and get bidding. [EaterWire]
