Congrats due out this morning to Kyle Bailey, who has been dubbed mid-Atlantic regional winner of Food & Wine's The People's Best New Chef award. The Birch & Barley chef took the title with 31.13 percent of the vote — with his main competition coming from Bayou Bakery's David Guas, who finished second with 28.21 percent. Hooray for DC!
Unfortunately, it was a Bostonian who won the national competition, Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa, for his nose-to-tail cooking. Maybe next year?
