CLEVELAND PARK—Uptown Girl's Cleveland Park Blog took a peek inside Medium Rare, the new venture from Michel Richard, Mark Bucher (BGR: The Burger Joint) and Brian Zipin (Ray's the Steaks). What she saw were exposed brick walls, cafe tables and a menu offering bread, salad and steak-frites for $19.99. Some classic desserts in the mix, too. [Uptown Girl]
ATLAS DISTRICT—H Street Great Street brings a lot of exciting news today about restaurants set to open on, you guessed it, H Street. First up: Khan's Bar & Grill will begin serving its Mongolian barbecue on Monday, March 28. Then Toki Underground is expected to open on April 1 with ramen and dumplings galore. Last but not least, Queen Vic is passing inspections left and right and will open soon — Thrillist says later this week. [HSGS, Thrillist]
CAPITOL HILL—Get your tickets to Taste of the Hill's 2011 gala on April 2 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. We Love DC says proceeds from these $75 tickets will support Brent Elementary — and they'll get you some grub from neighborhood faves Ba Bay, Belga Cafe, Sonoma, Matchbox and more. [We Love DC]
FOOD TRUCKS—Yet another legal run-in in the food truck world today. Prince of Petworth reports that a police officer pulled TaKorean over today on a tip that it didn't have proper licenses. According to its Twitter feed, the truck later reopened once it got the situation straightened out. [PoP]
