RAMW Announces 2011 RAMMY Awards Nominees

Last night the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced the nominees for the 2011 RAMMY awards from the ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton. Chefs, restaurateurs and other industry members showed up for an event where the vibe seemed more about the mingling of people who don't get to see each other much rather than an awards event. Nominees for best new restaurant provided appetizers, while the mixology contenders got everyone boozed up. The announcements could barely be heard over the din of chatter in the room — which didn't entirely matter since most (but not all) the nominees were notified beforehand. The winners will be named at the RAMMY gala on June 26 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
