One of the few knocks on Hill Country since it opened in DC a couple weeks ago was that the barbecue market wasn't open for lunch. Well, time to mark that off your list of gripes. Starting today the Texas-style barbecue joint is open for lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. all week long from now on. The full menu of meats, sides and desserts is available all day, but Hill Country is also offering up a list of lunch-only specials set at pretty reasonable price points.
Lunch specials run until 5 p.m. and include:
Barbecue Beef Sandwich Special — A barbecue beef sandwich with any side for $9.50
Healthy Market Special — Quarter market chicken (white or dark meat) and market salad for $11
Brisket, Chicken and Rib Special — 1/4 lb lean brisket, quarter chicken (white or dark meat), one pork spare rib, cornbread, and any 8 oz. side for $15
Kreuz Sausage Special — 1/3 lb link of Kreuz sausage, cornbread, and any 8 oz. side for $10
Barbecue Chicken Special — Quarter chicken (white or dark meat), cornbread and any 8 oz. side for $10
Texas Chili Special — EAK’s Bowl of Red chili, either 8 or 16 oz., served with longhorn cheddar, chopped onion and cornbread for $8 or $11
