1) Friendship Heights: Rosa Mexicano is right on trend today with plans to open up yet another local outpost, according to the Washington Business Journal. The upscale Mexican establishment signed a lease for its third DC-area location — this time in Friendship Heights. Rosa Mexicano is already in Penn Quarter and the National Harbor. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
2) Penn Quarter: Speaking of Penn Quarter, PQLiving has a look at the new sign in the window of chef Enzo Fargione's Elisir. The modern Italian restaurant proclaims that the "culinary journey" will begin this summer. Consider yourself warned. [PLYWOOD]
3) Virginia Square: Fans of Chinese hot pot should be pleased to hear that Mala Tang is bringing the Sichuan specialty to Virginia Square. ARLNow reports the restaurant applied for its liquor license on Tuesday. Chef Liu Chaosheng (of Falls Church restaurants Uncle Liu's Hot Pot and Hong Kong Palace) will lead the venture. [PLYWOOD]
