Miami's James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz is in town this week promoting his new cookbook "Michael's Genuine Food: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People Who Love to Eat." You'll find him hanging out with chef buddies John Critchley (Urbana) and Haidar Karoum (Estadio/Proof) signing books and whatnot today and tomorrow.
Urbana's event starts at 4 p.m. today featuring hors d'oeuvres straight out of Schwartz's cookbook, including kingfish escabeche, deviled eggs, falafel with tahini sauce, and shiitake mushroom pizza with cave-aged gruyere. Then tomorrow at 5:30 p.m., Proof hosts the Miami chef for cocktails, wine and free hors d'oeuvres like crispy gnudi, grouper ceviche, and chicken liver crostini. Both events are free.
