The Washington Post decided to do a little spring cleaning this weekend and came up with 10 things the world should throw out — among them, the practice of tipping in restaurants. Mixologist and Passenger/Columbia Room owner Derek Brown pens the argument, writing, "I prefer to call tipping in restaurants and bars what it really is: voluntary payment. It's kind of like those 'leave a penny, take a penny' trays based entirely on goodwill only it's what we rely on for our livelihood." [WaPo]
