The New England-style Freddy's Lobster + Clams officially opened today in Bethesda next door to Grapeseed, chef/owner Jeff Heineman's popular bistro. It also just so happens to be around the corner from Pizzeria da Marco, which opened yesterday. The menu includes favorites like lobster rolls (warm with butter or cold with mayo), Maine shrimp rolls and Rhode Island-style calamari — plus a lot of fried seafood from whole belly clams and haddock to shrimp and clam strips. For dinner, there's a grilled fish option and even some meat if you're passing on seafood. Not to mention, there's also a good variety of craft beers on tap and more by the bottle. Status: Open. 4867 Cordell Avenue; website [EaterWire]
