Yesterday's State of the Industry event brought together chefs, critics and more to discuss everything from the recession's effect on the restaurant industry to the lessening influences of the major restaurant critics. According to the Washington Business Journal, former Washington Post critic Phyllis Richman was there and admitted that critics had too much power back in her day. But the panel agreed, too, that "now it's hard to figure out, in a sea of blogs and Yelp reviews, who has an educated voice with a good palate. [WBJ]
