FOOD TRUCKS—Holy cow. Either people really like corned beef sandwiches or they really like Spike Mendelsohn because the line today at the former Top Chef contestant's food truck debut was pretty serious. The kosher deli truck, named Sixth & Rye after the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, started serving this morning at 11:30 and the line grew so long they had to cut it off around 1 p.m. One estimate of crowd size was as high as 300 people! The truck, which operates only on Fridays, is a partnership between the synagogue, Mendelsohn and on-board chef Malcolm Mitchell. [EaterWire]
CLARENDON—There are still some seats available for Lyon Hall's asparagus-themed farm dinner at 7 p.m. on Sunday night. Chef Andy Bennett is putting together a five-course meal featuring asparagus from Fields of Peace and Berry Simple Farm. Reservations are $75 per person (including wine pairings) and can be made by emailing lyonhallfarmdinners@gmail.com. [EaterWire]
ATLAS DISTRICT—Frozen Tropics hears word that the Pug is starting up Friday lunch services beginning on June 3. They'll be serving burgers, dogs and more. [FT]
