EVENT PLANNING—Ever wanted to see your favorite chef ride through DC on a motorcycle? Well, if your favorite chef is Robert Wiedmaier, David Guas or RJ Cooper then you may be in luck tomorrow. These three chefs will be among the VIP riders at tomorrow morning's 11 a.m. launch event for Stars & Stripes & Spokes, a four-day motorcycle rally and music festival going down at RFK Stadium. The ride departs at 11 a.m. tomorrow from the parking lot of the Waterfront Metro station-adjacent Safeway. [EaterWire]

ALEXANDRIAEvening Star Café is hosting a Memorial Day barbecue on Sunday at noon, though the event seems to be more in celebration of the Indy 500 than the actual holiday. Beyond the burgers, dogs, ribs and whatnot, they'll have TVs tuned to the big race, plus some fun Indy-related games for the kids. [EaterWire]

U STREETCafé Saint-Ex hosts a Memorial Day Chili Cook-Off on Monday starting at noon featuring recipes from local chefs, live music, activities for the kids (like face-painting) and activities for the adults (like drink specials). Proceeds go to Garrison Elementary School, in case you need a good reason to stuff your face with chili on Memorial Day. [EaterWire]
