BOOZE NEWS—DCist reports that New Belgium Brewery has signed contracts with Washington-area distributors, so you can expect their Fat Tire, Ranger IPA and Hoptober Ale around town by August 22, with a few other selections coming later. Capitol Hill's Pound Coffee is pretty excited about the news, joking (presumably) via Twitter that it may get a liquor license just to serve Flat Tire. [DCist, Twitter]
BETHESDA—That heat wave has passed, but it'll be back and Pizzeria da Marco is ready. The Bethesda Neapolitan-style pizzeria has added house-made gelato to its menu. Per a release, flavors will be seasonal and include the standard vanilla and chocolate plus more exciting options like Piedmontese hazelnut and Sicilian pistachio. Kids 10 and under get free gelato with a pizza purchase. [EaterWire]
