There's always plenty of noise about where DC stands in the global food scene, but the following statistic should speak to that point: Restaurant real estate broker Tom Papadopoulos tells Dining Bisnow that 20 percent of his clients come from outside DC, compared to only 5 percent three to five years ago. And while most of the new restaurants seem to be spin-offs from New York, Papadopoulos says he's working on bringing West Hollywood's Koi to downtown DC. [DBN]
