1) U Street: Thrillist says that The Codmother soft-opens tonight on U Street with a small menu of just three entrees: fish and chips, fried mussels sandwich and a shrimp, mussels and cod platter. 2) Palisades: Nate and Lindsey Auchter's new restaurant Salt & Pepper opened last week on MacArthur Boulevard. The dinner menu is full of their take on the classics, from a buttermilk-brined fried chicken and a Wagyu meatloaf to a crab cake with pickled ramps. 3) Wheaton: The Gazette reports that Ren's Ramen, formerly of Bethesda, reopened in Wheaton earlier this month, along with its next-door neighbor Ruan Thai. The business was forced to move when rent got too high in Bethesda. Status: Certified open. 11403 Amherst Ave; website [via WCP]
