Cava, Shaw's Tavern and Maybe Denny's Cafe On The Way!

CLARENDON—According to its Twitter feed, Cava's new location is about a week away from opening on Clarendon Boulevard — assuming that today's inspection goes well. [PLYWOOD]

EVERYWHERE—The Washington Business Journal reports that Denny's is looking to bring four or five locations of its new fast-casual Denny's Cafe to DC. They're still shopping around, though, and no deals have been signed. [PRE-PLYWOOD]

SHAW—Our buddies over at Curbed DC have an update from Steve May, owner of Shaw's Tavern. The forthcoming restaurant is installing its pizza oven next and has begun hiring. Opening day should be soon. [PLYWOOD]

ARLINGTON—ARLnow has it that Arlington Ridge Shopping Center is getting a new jack-of-all-trades "coffee shop/wine bar/soup-salad-and-sandwich restaurant" called Cafe Caturra. [PLYWOOD]
